Summer school Analyzing Classroom Interaction
Dates: 8 – 12 July 2019
Deadline for applications: 1 May 2019
Description: Understanding social interactions is key for understanding learning and socialization processes. In the summer school Analyzing Classroom Interactions, we place these moment-to-moment interactions in the foreground. You will gain a rich set of tools designed to analyze classroom interactions as they unfold from moment to moment. This includes a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, from Conversation analysis, T-patterns Analysis, to Statistical Discourse Analysis. You will also engage in discussions regarding the theoretical underpinnings of adopting an interactional approach, the practical considerations necessary for dealing with interactional data, and how your own research questions fit into all of this. This summer school is intended for anyone who is curious about how classroom dynamics evolve from moment to moment, and how you – as a researcher – can capture these dynamics and their consequences.
