https://mysteryscenemag.com/ge61jh07u Generic Ambien Online Job description

Brand Ambien Online We are looking for a highly capable, eager, and intrinsically motivated PhD candidate. The project is embedded in our developmental psychobiology research group (DPBLab; PI: Prof.dr. Carolina de Weerth) at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour in Nijmegen (the Netherlands). This position is part of a program started with a personal VICI grant awarded to de Weerth by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). The grant is on children’s gut microbial colonization in relation to stress early in life and later brain functioning, behavior, and cognition. The colonization of the gut by microbes is of interest because it is assumed to play an essential role in children’s physical, behavioral, and cognitive development.

The aim of this PhD project is to examine whether a naturalistic stress-reducing intervention program based on caregiver-infant contact can positively affect infant gut microbial colonization and infant behavioral and cognitive development. In an RCT, caregiver-infant contact in 3-month-old infants starting center-based childcare will be increased in the intervention group during the hours spent in childcare. Trained volunteers will provide this extra caregiver-infant contact.

REMINDER Job opening: Assistant Professor in the field of Aging/ Lifespan Psychology, Tilburg University

The Tilburg University department of Developmental Psychology is looking for an Assistant Professor in the field of Aging/ Lifespan Psychology, tenure track (1.0 fte, 5 years). Deadline for applying: August 31, 2019.

Description

Due to increasing life expectancy, society in many western countries is aging rapidly. Advancing age increases the risk for cognitive, physical and social challenges, which can have a negative impact on physical and mental health and engagement in social activities. Hence, adaptive coping with these age-related challenges can significantly improve individuals’ quality of life and contribute to aging proactively. However, individuals are differently affected and react differently to age-related challenges. We are interested in which personal characteristics and behaviors (e.g., genetics, brain mechanisms, cognition, life-style, self-regulation, motivation, personality) account for these inter-individual differences and act as protective or risk factors in the diversity of the aging process. In addition, we are also interested in examining which and how these personal characteristics and behaviors can be adjusted and influenced to the better.

We are looking for a candidate, who likes to work in an interdisciplinary research environment. This includes collaborating with members of the department on cognitive aging, personality development and/or forensic psychology. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to research collaborations across departments at the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences with a focus on successful aging.

Marieke Bos bij de afdeling Ontwikkelings- en Onderwijspsychologie in het Brain & Development Research Center. Call for applications for the 2019 EADP-EARA-SRA Summer School

In 2019, EADP, EARA and SRA will again jointly organize a Summer School focusing on research on adolescence. The Summer School is a training ground for young scholars interested in adolescent development. The Summer Schools bring together established researchers, recognized for their expertise and teaching abilities with doctoral students from around the globe, for several intensive days of research training. The training includes exposure to innovative and creative research, as well as workshops focusing on professional skills. The summer schools have given students enthusiasm to search for scientific guidance outside of the borders of their countries and the walls of their universities.

The Summer School will be held in Greece from August 26 to 29 (just before the ECDP2019 conference), with arrival on August 25. The site for the school will be in Kalamata, a nice town of the Peloponnese peninsula. The summer school will be directed by Susan Branje, Lisa Kiang, and Katariina Salmela-Aro. The Senior Scholars participating this year include (in alphabetical order): Rob Crosnoe, Linda Juang, Tina Malti, Katariina Salmela-Aro, and Michiel Westenberg, and Ellen Hamaker as school methodologist.

We invite doctoral students in any part of the world to apply. A total of 24 students (8 per association) will be selected on the basis of their academic records, research experience, letters of recommendation, and overall evidence of scientific aptitude and competence. Students who apply should have their doctoral research planned or underway, but not completed, so that they can benefit from the critiques given during the school. Students will have to cover their own travel costs, with accommodations from August 25 to 29 and meals from August 26 to 29 paid for by the School. US students (whose travel costs are expected to be substantially higher) can opt for an SRA travel fellowship.

https://www.elcys.com/h61gx4hfx HOW DO YOU APPLY?

 Send the following documents in English, saved as Word (.docx) or Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files.

  1. Your curriculum vitae (labeled yourname.cv.docx)

Project description

Adolescence is a turbulent phase of development. Around the transition to adolescence, self-regulation failures such as aggression typically emerge or worsen. These self-regulation failures come at great cost for individuals, communities, and society at large. How can these failures be prevented so as to help youths thrive? This project examines whether self-regulation can be improved by addressing something that youths care deeply about: the social norms within their peer group. The aim is to conduct a randomized-controlled trial and follow-up experiments to investigate how changing social norms may affect self-regulation, and to examine how this may create effective behaviour change and improve mental and physical health in youths. Moreover, this project examines how specific changes in youths cascade into healthier peer networks (increased feelings of safety, less conflicts and bullying, and fewer signs of physical ill-health). The project combines insights from pedagogics, developmental psychology, and social psychology, and will shed new light on how we can help youths flourish.

Tasks

  • Participation in the PhD-programme of the Graduate School of Child Development and Education and RPA Yield;
  • independently carrying out research, writing scientific articles, and completing a PhD dissertation within four or five years;
